What is a legal address and how to change it in Armenia?
A legal address is the official, state-registered address of a company or an individual entrepreneur.
It is the address under which the organization is registered with government authorities. Official correspondence from tax, judicial, and other state bodies is sent to this address. It is also указан in all legal documents.
The legal address does not have to match the actual place of business. A company may operate in one location but be registered in another.
What to do if you need to change your legal address
To apply to the relevant authorities, you need to prepare the following documents:
- application for change of legal address
- founder’s decision or meeting minutes
- document confirming the new address:
- ownership certificate, or
- lease agreement, or
- written consent of the property owner
Then you must apply to the government authority — in this case, the State Register Agency.
You can submit the application online or in person.
After that, you need to obtain confirmation of registration. Once the changes are registered, the new address becomes legally valid.
